At Otero College, our dedicated faculty guide students through hands on, project based activites both on and off campus, encouraging teamwork and curiosity while embracing the fundamentals of each discipline. Recent & On Going Projects
Arkansas Valley Regional Science Fair
The Arkansas Valley Regional Science Fair is held annually for students in grades K-12. This fair is an opportunity for students to showcase their love for science and technology by presenting their projects to a panel of judges. This is an excellent platform for students to share their ideas with the community and receive feedback on their projects.
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
Otero College is now the host of its very own Electric Vehicle charging stations! For anyone with a vehicle that can be plugged in – Battery Electric or Plug-In Hybrid – Otero College will be able to provide a location for those seeking to charge up their vehicle in the town of La Junta.
Archaeological Field Work
In 2019 members of Otero’s STEM faculty established a long term archaeological field research project for the region.
