Otero Men’s Basketball to Host Region IX Tournament

Otero College is excited to announce that the Men’s Basketball team will be hosting the Region IX tournament. After winning their game on Feb. 22, 81 to 72, the Otero team became the regular season Region IX South Champions. The Rattlers completed their regular season 22-6 overall and 9-3 in Region IX South play. The tournament will be held at the McDivitt Center Gym beginning this Thursday, March 3 through Saturday, March 5.

Eight teams will play at Otero in hopes of winning the Region IX Tournament to move on to the national tournament. Quarterfinal games will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the McDivitt Center Gym, followed by games at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and finally 7 p.m. when the Otero Rattlers will play against Eastern Wyoming College. Winners from Thursday’s games will play again on Friday at 5 and 7 p.m. and the championship will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. To see the full bracket, please visit the Otero Men’s Basketball Facebook page or www.otero.edu.
