Otero College Welcomes New Employees
Otero College is excited to announce a two of our newest employees, Nicole Haberman and Skye Koehl. Haberman is taking on the position of Assistant Financial Aid Director and Koehl will be the Assistant Softball Coach.
Nicole Haberman, Assistant Financial Aid Director, worked as a Secondary English Teacher for seven years before coming to Otero. She taught freshman English and Stagecraft courses. She attended Otero College from 2012-13 earning her Associate of Arts degree before moving on to the University of Northern Colorado and completing a Bachelor of Arts degree.
“What I love most about Otero is the people. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and I look forward to building great relationships with staff and students,” Haberman shared. She is looking forward to returning to Otero and creating a motivational workspace that inspires her to exceed her productivity each day. She is a local addition, having been raised in La Junta. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing and spending time outdoors.
Skye Koehl, Assistant Softball Coach, is from Columbus, Texas. She will work with the student-athletes on strength and conditioning, outfield, hitting, and leadership and development. She will also be helping with recruiting athletes for the program and updating the team’s social media accounts.
Some of her goals are to develop athletes both on and off the softball field, in leadership, responsibility, as well as with their quickness and strength. She sets high expectations and would like to win the conference and a national title. Koehl also wants to help athletes transfer to 4-year schools upon graduation.
When asked what she liked about Otero, Koehl responded, “The campus, friendly cohesive environment, facilities, small town and the staff.” Otero Athletics is excited to add her to their ranks and is looking forward to seeing what she will add to the program.
