Otero College Nursing and Allied Health to Host Spring 2023 Excellence in Healthcare Gala on April 7
The Otero College Foundation, in conjunction with Otero College’s nursing and allied health department, is bringing back the annual Excellence in Healthcare Gala on April 7, 2023, in the Otero College Rizzuto Banquet Room. Scheduled for 6 p.m., the event will include a full dinner, auction, basket raffle, a speaker and more. This event is designed to honor those working in all health care practice areas as well as to raise scholarship funding for students in Otero’s allied health programs.
All money raised will support student scholarships through the Kay Mahoney Memorial Scholarship Fund for nursing and allied health students. This scholarship awards up to $1,500 per year. Applicants must be accepted into a healthcare program at Otero prior to application; hold at least a 2.5 GPA; and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing community service.
There are three levels of sponsorship opportunities available for this event in addition to individual ticket orders. They are:
- Platinum: for a donation of $750, the donor will receive dinner tickets for eight guests and 30 basket chance tickets.
- Gold: for a donation of $500, the donor will receive eight dinner tickets and 16 basket chance tickets.
- Silver: for a donation of $250, the donor will receive four dinner tickets and 8 basket chance tickets.
In addition, all sponsors will have their names listed in the evening’s program, press releases, social media, and other printed materials.
Dillon Martin, Otero College Foundation Director said, “We hope you will see the importance of sponsoring this scholarship program and invite you to join us for this event. This funding has been very meaningful to the students who have received it in the past. We hope to continue the tradition and award the funds raised to students who may not have had the opportunity to continue their education otherwise.”
