NTSO Sends Six Students to the Royal Gorge

To culminate the end of year/semester activities by NTSO (Non-Traditional Student Organization), six students were able to enjoy a trip to Cañon City. They took a train ride through the Royal Gorge with their tickets being paid for with NTSO funds. These students worked hard through out the semester to help others and were able to have this experience to acknowledge that.

According to their sponsor, Shawn Japhet, the weather was beautiful, and students received an additional treat as big horn sheep, rafters, fishermen, and deer were seen along the route.

This year, NTSO collected lotion, ChapStick, hair ties, candy, pads, and pens throughout fall and spring semesters. Students assembled baskets with the various items then distributed them to Crowley County Correctional Facility, Fowler Nursing Home, and four units at AVRMC including OB, ER, ICU and Med Surg. NTSO held several fund-raising events and already has plans for a wrestling event in the fall.
