Academic Catalog - Welding Certificates
Certificate & Course Information
The welding program at Otero College is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in fields such as agriculture, production, maintenance, railroad, and pipeline industries. Students can earn one or more certificates in basic welding skills, including Oxyfuel Cutting, Plasma Cutting, Air Carbon Arc Gouging, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). The program also offers advanced certificates in areas like Welding Pipe, Welding Production, and further specialization in GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW. Advanced training prepares students for more complex welding procedures, including robotic and pipeline welding operations.
This program is designed to allow enrollment of both secondary and post-secondary students.
