
Otero College Launches Free Financial Literacy Micro-Credentialwith College Credit Opportunity
Otero College is proud to offer a new, free financial literacy micro-credential to residents of Otero County and the surrounding region, made possible through a partnership with the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) and the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE). Through this statewide initiative, participants who complete the 8-module NEFE Financial Literacy course can earn a micro-credential and receive 3 free college credits applicable toward a degree or certificate at any CCCS institution—including Otero College.
“This is a powerful opportunity for our community members to build financial confidence while taking their first step into higher education,” said Angela Moore, Vice President of Student Affairs at Otero College. “Whether you’re a high school senior, working adult, or community member looking to return to school, this program helps you grow critical life skills and save money on college at the same time.”

8 self-paced, online modules covering budgeting, credit, saving,
investing, insurance, and more
Earn a Financial Literacy Micro-Credential upon successful completion
Receive 3 college credits for FREE, with no tuition, fees, or textbook
costs
Open to all residents of Otero, Bent, Crowley, and surrounding counties
Participants can apply the credits toward programs such as Business,
Agriculture, Early Childhood Education, and others offered at Otero College.
