School Counselor Corps Grant Regional Training and PWR Symposium
January 24 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Otero College will be hosting school counselors, administrators and district staff for the SCCG regional training and Office of Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Symposium.
The purpose of the School Counselor Corps Grant Program is to increase the graduation rate across the state, reduce the dropout rate and increase the percentage of students who appropriately prepare for, apply to and continue into postsecondary education. The SCCG provides training to grantees throughout the year, which brings counselors and administration together for professional development.
The Office of Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness hosts yearly symposiums to engage neighboring schools, districts, workforce centers, regional city and regional economic development councils, businesses, and higher education to talk about resources and promising practices for student success.
